Chin Na Techniques 1 - 17

Chin Na (擒拿, qínná) means “Seize and Control” and is applicable to all martial arts styles. It includes joint locks and cavity press techniques. Altogether, it is estimated that over 800 Chin Na techniques exist in martial arts. The YMAA system consists of about 120. This level's techniques are:
  1. White Crane Nods Its Head (白鶴點頭, báihè diǎntóu)
  2. White Crane Twists Its Neck (白鶴扭頸, báihè niǔjǐng)
  3. Lift the Elbow to Break the Wing (抬肘拗翅, táizhǒu ǎochì)
  4. White Crane Covers Its Wings (白鶴掩翅, báihè yānchì)
  5. Hands Embrace a Guitar (手抱琵琶, shǒubào pípá)
  6. Single Finger Holding (單指握, dānzhǐ wò)
  7. Multiple Finger Holding (多指握, duōzhǐ wò)
  8. Butterfly Bores Through the Flowers, Back Turning (蝴蝶穿花,反背轉, húdié chuānhuā, fǎnbèi zhuǎn)
  9. Double Finger Split (雙分指, shuāngfēn zhǐ)
  10. Small Wrap Hand-1 (小纏手 - 1, xiǎo chánshǒu - 1)
  11. Small Wrap Hand-2 (小纏手 - 2, xiǎo chánshǒu - 2)
  12. Forward Wrist Press (前壓腕, qián yāwán)
  13. Press the Wrist Up (上壓腕, shàng yāwán)
  14. Turning Around Heaven and Earth (紐轉乾坤, niǔzhuǎn qiánkūn)
  15. Turning Body Elbow Wrap (轉身纏肘, zhuǎnshēn chánzhǒu)
  16. Forward Turning Elbow (前翻肘, qián fānzhǒu)
  17. Two Children Worship the Buddha (雙童拜佛, shuāngtóng bàifó)
